请教一个语法问题,为什么B和C不能选?
In 1776 Adam Smith wrote that it is young people who have “the contempt of risk and the presumptuous hope of success” needed to found new businesses. (OG19 V 207)
A who have
B with
C having
D who are those with
E who are the ones to have

- It is… who… 这是idiomatic construction; place primary emphasis on the question that Smith addressed with the quoted words; 这句话主要想表达的是: 成为企业家需要具备哪些品质;→ 在who后面跟的是对于young people属性的定义,这部分其实是句子意思的重心;
- with B选项把从句who变成了介词with带着后面的属性;意思变了,从需要真正needed的是people,变成了是有这种需求的这一类人。换个角度:如果with可以,那么前边it is强调作用就非常弱,Adam Smith直接worte that后面接内容不好吗?为什么一定要强调?要强调的具体内容是什么?it is young people…that are needed to…这里也没有that are; With本身像一个小绳子,拖不动一个很长的很笨重的内容;
- 使用定语从句的作用在于把超长的修饰成分变为从属内容,降格处理,给主句的语义,尤其是谓语,腾挪出空间和道路;
- are those with / are the ones to have 实际表达的意思是 have;不简洁;
- having 使用分词做状语,句子的意思不完整,have出现的点正好是解释people和属性之间的关系;
